![]() BMD has several mini converters that can also do the job. That turned out not to matter as I have BMD's Broadcast Converter, so I could get analog signals converted to SDI that way. I should have pulled the trigger earlier as the Teranex 2D & 3D had analog video inputs. I had thought about buying one of these for years. I purchased the Teranex AV along with the Hyperdeck Studio 2 to digitize my vast library of DV, DVCAM, HDV, BetaSP, and Hi8 tapes. The Teranex AV does some other cool things, but they aren't worth the money.I paid for pulldown removal and that wasn't what I got. The Decimator MD-HX does a better job removing pulldown than this thing does (it gets lost too, but not as easily) at 1/6th of the price. If you're trying to do pulldown removal, pricier should be better.but not in this case. If you're just trying to convert between 60 and 50, you don't need to spend 1800 bucks on this. If you're doing frame rate conversion, latency is a necessary evil (it generates and passes timecode, so who cares about latency anyway). ![]() The literature brags about its low latency. This unit is a GREAT idea, but it needs a lot of work before it's ready for professional use. ![]() ![]() It only holds 2 frames, takes a guess, and starts blending when it can't figure it out (no matter if it's set to auto/film/video, scene detect, doesn't matter). What Blackmagic should have installed in the Teranex was an adjustable frame buffer (for pulldown removal) with a maximum of 10-frames where cadence is determined, and (if necessary) automatically adjusts to conform by dropping duplicate frames (in 3:2), then output with no frame blending.
